Little Easton

This Bank Holiday Monday with my family and a friend of my fathers. First of all we travelled to Thaxted via an exceedingly dreary route up the M11. At Thaxted we had a delightful tea at Poppy's tea rooms. I had coffee and walnut cake along with elderflower and apple cordial and it wasn't the overpriced tiny slices of cake you find at some places.

After this we visited Little Easton and after several minutes struggling to find the church of St. Mary the Virgin but thanks to some directions from a helpful villager. The church was wonderful and I've done a little tour in powerpoint:

After our long visit to the church we were going to visit Easton Lodge Gardens but didn't get further than a bridge with some huge fish swimming and coming up to the surface to take the bread we were feeding the geese.

After a greatly enjoyable day out we headed back via a picturesque route through Saffron Walden.
